Creating Safety and Resilience

Commitment to Care, Respect, and Trust embodied in our commitment to safety

Community Based Practice

Connection

We seek to grow the capacity of our community to solve problems creatively, organically, and interpersonally.

We also strive to ensure our members get support when they want or need it.

If you experience something within SGC that feels troubling, unsafe or hurtful, we invite you to consider the following:

  • If it feels like you have the capacity to address the issue on your own, we encourage you to try, and ask for help if needed.
  • If it would feel better to have support, we encourage you to engage a facilitator or communicate through any of the channels listed below.
  • If it feels severe or urgent we recommend talking to our Listener (who can advise you on how to navigate) or engaging our Community Safety Team

Get Support

Compassionate Presence

Our primary commitment is to listening, because we believe listening is essential for community harmony. In service of this belief we provide many ways to communicate with SGC.

When communicating please contemplate:

  • What are you wanting SGC to know?
  • What communication channel would feel best?
    • online
    • face to face
    • in community
  • What communication channel is most likely to have the desired impact?

When in doubt it a good place to start can be with reaching out to [email protected] or contacting [email protected].

Our Scope of Support

SGC is a religious organization and does not offer therapy or mental health services.

Give us Feedback

Online

We care deeply about your experience and are committed to listening. If you have something you would like to share with staff or leadership please consider giving us some feedback.

If you request a response we will attempt to respond in a timely manner and if you don't your feedback will be read and considered during our monthly feedback cerebration.

Speak with our Listener

Face to Face

At Sacred Garden Community we believe that listening is at the heart of maintaining a healthy community. In service of this belief we have a Listener, whose role it is to hear you. If you have anything you would like to share with SGC, that would feel best said face to face (or likely screen to screen) please schedule some time with our Listener.

Sacred Plant Alliance

Oversight Organization (Ombudsmen)

This community (SGC) is a member of the Sacred Plant Alliance (SPA), a self-regulating association of churches that is dedicated to accountability and transparency in spiritual work. When ethical concerns or adverse experiences occur, SPA strongly recommends first attempting to resolve the matter with the resources available within your community. However, if you feel the need to report a serious problem, or seek help from outside the community to resolve a challenging situation, you may make a report of an ethical violation or serious adverse event to SPA with this online form or this email: [email protected]
