Confirmation Course

A guided introduction to the foundations of Sacred Garden Community

The Confirmation Course introduces the heart of Sacred Garden Community—its shared faith of Least Dogma, core values of Care, Respect, and Trust, and sacred multi-sacrament practice. Through exploring community structure, safety, and pathways of engagement, participants learn how SGC functions as both a spiritual body and a legally recognized church. Confirmation marks your formal commitment to this sincere religious practice, strengthening your spiritual roots while helping protect the community’s right to gather and practice freely.

This course helps you:

  • Discover SGC’s unique approach to spiritual freedom, community, and sacred practice.

  • Learn how to engage our sacraments and ceremonies with care and respect.

  • Understand our systems for health, safety, harmony, and accountability.

  • Learn how to access member resources, gatherings, and support networks.

  • Discern your own next steps on the path — Confirmation, community participation, or training toward facilitation and service.

What You’ll Explore

1. Our Shared Faith: Least Dogma
At the heart of SGC is a single shared belief: We are open to the possibility that the Sacraments of our Church can open the way to a direct experience of the Divine within this lifetime.
You’ll learn how this simple principle protects freedom of conscience, encourages humility, and creates space for authentic spiritual experience across many traditions, worldviews, and identities.

2. Our Shared Values: Care, Respect, and Trust
These values form the living soil of our community. You’ll explore how Care, Respect, and Trust shape our relationships, guide our ceremonies, and serve as the foundation for safety and accountability within SGC life.

3. The Wheel of Practice
SGC’s core framework for safe and integrated spiritual practice, the Wheel of Practice has six spokes — Navigation, Preparation, Initiation, Practice, Integration, and Community Integration.
You’ll learn how this framework supports practitioners through every stage of ceremonial life, ensuring balance, reflection, and integrity in entheogenic practice.

4. Health, Safety, and Harmony
You’ll be introduced to our Health & Safety Questionnaire, Harmony & Safety Team, and the Community Safety Team (CST) — systems designed to protect the wellbeing of all members. Learn when and how to reach out for support, report concerns, or request facilitation guidance, and understand the shared responsibilities that help keep our community safe.

5. The Path of Confirmation
Finally, you’ll learn what it means to become a Confirmed Member — how this commitment affirms your sincere religious practice, protects your rights under RFRA, and connects you to a network of care, accountability, and shared purpose. You’ll also discover how to access member resources such as ceremonies, affinity groups, service opportunities, and pastoral support.
